Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company Launches Community Awareness Recruitment Campaign

There is no greater feeling than helping someone in need, and by volunteering with Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company, you can experience that feeling on a daily basis. The Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company is seeking to increase its volunteer firefighter base and community engagement by launching a community awareness recruitment campaign via FightRobertsvilleFires.org.

Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company, made up of entirely volunteer firefighters, is committed to providing a quick response time and the highest level of emergency services to the community. It serves the residents of Marlboro Township and Monmouth County, averaging between 225 to 250 emergency calls ranging from vehicular accidents and service calls to structural and residential fires. No experience is required to join the fire company, and training and gear are provided for free.

To kick off the awareness campaign, volunteers participated in the brand development process that led to the slogan, “Pride of the Westside. Train. Save. Protect.” The “Pride of the Westside” tagline represents the unwavering commitment and pride the volunteers at Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company feel as they protect and serve the westside of the community. The tagline will be incorporated into all digital marketing materials, aimed to inspire residents within the community to volunteer with the fire company. Campaign awareness efforts will consist of social media content, public relations in traditional media outlets and increased participation at local events.

The new website, FightRobertsvilleFires.org, will serve as a centralized location for interested individuals to gather information about the volunteer fire company. The website provides a volunteer inquiry form for interested community members to fill out. Upon completion, a member of the volunteer fire company will answer any questions and schedule a time for the individual to tour the station. Additionally, the website will include volunteer testimonials, detailed descriptions on the volunteer experience with the fire company, FAQs and photos.

“With the community awareness recruitment campaign, we hope to connect with members of the community that are unfamiliar with our fire company and convey to them the amazing opportunities that we provide. The small size of our fire company makes it extremely unique and optimal for someone interested in learning the ropes of the volunteer fire service,” said Chief Keith Badler. “Our volunteers don’t have to compete with one another for hands-on training or to have a seat on the truck when it is time to respond, unlike the case at many of the larger neighboring fire companies.”

Volunteers at Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company are entitled to free life insurance, free training and classes to pursue heightened levels of certification at Monmouth County Fire Academy, free township permits and a free summer recreation pass.

“Although we provide free training and gear as well as other benefits, nothing beats the immense pride our volunteers feel while serving our community and residents,” said Badler.
